Louisville, KY – Another stretch of dry weather and unusually warm late October temperatures is expected across central Kentucky and southern Indiana this week, with afternoon highs approaching 80 degrees and little rainfall in the forecast through Friday, Oct. 30.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, above normal temperatures and dry conditions will continue throughout the workweek, bringing several days of pleasant afternoons but limited opportunities for much needed rainfall.
Monday night, Oct. 26, will feature mostly clear skies, with temperatures falling between 43 and 48 degrees. Patchy fog could develop by Tuesday morning, potentially reducing visibility for early commuters.
Tuesday, Oct. 27, will bring partly cloudy skies after areas of morning fog dissipate. Afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 73 to 77 degrees, followed by overnight lows between 49 and 54 degrees.
Wednesday, Oct. 28, should remain warm, with decreasing cloud cover and highs between 73 and 78 degrees. Overnight temperatures are forecast to drop between 46 and 51 degrees.
By Thursday, Oct. 29, sunshine will dominate the forecast, with afternoon highs climbing to 74 to 79 degrees across the region.
Friday, Oct. 30, is expected to remain mostly sunny, with highs again reaching 74 to 79 degrees and overnight lows between 45 and 52 degrees.
The extended dry pattern could be particularly noticeable across Louisville, Jefferson County and surrounding Kentucky communities, where residents will experience several consecutive days without meaningful rainfall.
While the warm afternoons may provide favorable conditions for outdoor activities, drivers should remain cautious during early morning hours when patchy fog could affect visibility.
The National Weather Service has not identified a significant storm system in its latest weekly outlook.
