Louisville, KY – A dramatic difference between chilly mornings and warm afternoons is expected across central Kentucky this weekend and into next week, with overnight temperatures dropping near 40 degrees before daytime highs climb toward 80 degrees by Wednesday, Oct. 28.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, high pressure will remain firmly in control of the region's weather, delivering mostly sunny skies, dry conditions and temperatures above normal for late October.
Saturday night will bring some of the chilliest conditions, with forecast lows ranging from 40 to 45 degrees across the region.
Patchy valley fog could also develop overnight, particularly in low lying areas where cooler air settles.
Drivers traveling through valleys early Sunday should remain alert for localized reductions in visibility.
Warm Weather Returns Sunday Through Wednesday
Despite the chilly overnight conditions, temperatures will rebound quickly during the afternoon hours.
Sunday, Oct. 25, through Tuesday, Oct. 27, will feature highs between 72 and 77 degrees, accompanied by mostly sunny skies.
By Wednesday, Oct. 28, temperatures could climb between 73 and 78 degrees, continuing the stretch of above normal warmth.
The forecast applies to the broader Louisville weather service region, including communities across central Kentucky and southern Indiana.
The combination of sunshine, light weather impacts and comfortable afternoon temperatures should provide favorable conditions for outdoor activities, fall festivals and seasonal events.
What About Halloween Weekend?
With Halloween approaching Saturday, Oct. 31, residents may be wondering whether the warm, dry pattern will continue into trick or treating hours.
However, the current detailed forecast graphic extends only through Wednesday, and specific Halloween night temperatures or precipitation chances have not been established.
