Louisville, KY – Mostly dry weather and warming temperatures are expected across much of central Kentucky through Wednesday, while showers remain possible near Lake Cumberland this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, showers could develop in the Lake Cumberland region late Saturday and continue into Sunday. Elsewhere, clear skies and dry conditions are expected to dominate into next week.
Saturday's forecast calls for a high near 74 degrees and a low around 50. Sunday turns warmer, reaching about 77 degrees before temperatures fall to around 47 overnight.
Sunshine becomes the main story beginning Monday. The forecast shows a high near 76 degrees Monday, followed by a nighttime low around 40.
Tuesday will remain sunny with a high near 76 and another low around 40 degrees.
The warming trend becomes more noticeable Wednesday, when the NWS forecasts a high around 80 degrees. Another cool night follows, with temperatures near 40.
The NWS graphic does not indicate widespread rain across central Kentucky during the five day period. The weekend shower potential is specifically focused on the Lake Cumberland region, rather than the entire state or Louisville area.
Residents should expect the Lake Cumberland showers to diminish after Sunday, followed by a stretch of clear, dry weather and gradually warmer afternoon temperatures through the middle of the week.
