Jackson, KY – A blast of colder air is moving into eastern Kentucky Friday, Nov. 6, bringing the possibility of freezing temperatures, widespread frost and patchy morning fog this weekend, with some communities potentially dropping as low as 24 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, a cold front will move through eastern Kentucky Friday, producing spotty light precipitation before a reinforcing surge of colder, drier air arrives.
Temperatures could fall into the middle 20s this weekend.
Friday afternoon highs will range from 56 to 68 degrees, with overnight lows dropping between 32 and 40 degrees.
Saturday will be noticeably cooler, with afternoon highs between 52 and 58 degrees.

Communities across eastern Kentucky, including Jackson, Hazard, Pikeville, London, Somerset and surrounding mountain valleys, should prepare for potentially freezing overnight conditions.
Frost and fog could develop during the morning hours.
The National Weather Service expects patchy frost and fog early Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings.
