Davenport, Iowa – Drier fall weather returns to the Quad Cities through Thursday, though spotty drizzle could linger into Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, mostly dry and partly cloudy conditions are returning after multiple rainy days. High temperatures will remain seasonable, generally ranging from the 60s to low 70s.
Tonight, skies will begin clearing, but lingering drizzle remains possible. Temperatures will fall into the mid 40s to low 50s across the region, bringing a noticeably cooler start Wednesday morning.
Wednesday will feature partly cloudy skies with some spotty drizzle still possible. Afternoon temperatures will reach the mid 60s to low 70s before dropping into the upper 40s to mid 50s Wednesday night.
The return of drier conditions should improve travel across the Iowa Illinois region after the recent stretch of rain. Drivers should still watch for damp pavement where drizzle persists tonight and Wednesday, particularly during the morning commute.
Thursday continues the quieter pattern with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs will again range from the mid 60s to low 70s, while nighttime temperatures will range from the low to upper 50s.
No significant weather hazards are highlighted in the NWS outlook. Residents across the Quad Cities can expect more breaks in the clouds as the middle of the week progresses, with seasonable temperatures continuing through Thursday.
