DAVENPORT, Iowa — A mild start to November will turn increasingly wet across the Quad Cities, with Davenport climbing into the lower 70s Tuesday, Nov. 3, as rain chances reach 100% before cooler temperatures arrive for the second half of the week.
The National Weather Service forecast for an area just southeast of Davenport calls for a high near 65 Sunday, Nov. 1 , with only a 20% chance of afternoon showers. Sunday night remains mild near 55 before a more active pattern develops Monday.
Rain Builds Monday Monday reaches around 69 degrees , with a 50% chance of showers during the afternoon. Southeast winds increase to 10–15 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 30 mph .
Rain becomes much more widespread Monday night. The Weather Service places precipitation chances at 90% , while temperatures remain unusually mild near 62.
That sets up the wettest day of the current forecast Tuesday.
73° Tuesday With 100% Rain Tuesday, Nov. 3, is forecast to reach around 73 degrees despite widespread showers . The NWS lists a 100% precipitation chance , with new rainfall amounts between one quarter and one half inch possible during the day.
Showers remain likely Tuesday night with a 70% chance, while temperatures fall to around 52.
Wednesday brings a transition toward quieter weather. A 40% morning shower chance remains before skies turn partly sunny, with the high falling to around 65.
Conditions then become considerably quieter Thursday through Saturday. Thursday reaches near 63, while Friday and Saturday remain near 62 degrees . Overnight lows fall into the 40s.
That creates a clear Quad Cities progression: 65 Sunday, 69 Monday, 73 Tuesday with widespread rain, then lower 60s from Nov. 5–7.
Warmer, Drier Signal Nov. 8–14 The wet first week pattern may not continue into the second week of November.
NOAA’s Nov. 8–14 guidance favors below normal precipitation across a broad region extending through portions of the northern Plains, Upper Midwest and Midwest , while temperatures remain tilted above normal.
The broader regional theme is therefore warmth through the first half of November with rain chances potentially easing during Nov. 8–14 .
That does not mean Davenport will remain completely dry or warm every day. CPC outlooks describe average temperature and total precipitation tendencies rather than specific daily forecasts.
As Thanksgiving and holiday travel season approach, the larger November question for eastern Iowa becomes how long the mild pattern can keep the region’s first sustained taste of winter waiting.
