Davenport, IA – Warm, dry weather will continue across the Quad Cities area through Thursday before chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms return Friday, Oct. 9.
The National Weather Service Quad Cities said daytime temperatures will remain above seasonal normals through Thursday. Wednesday will be sunny and warm, with highs ranging from 73 to 81 degrees across the forecast area and northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph.
Thursday remains quiet, with forecast highs from 67 to 75 degrees.
The next weather change arrives Friday, when showers and isolated thunderstorms become possible. Temperatures are expected to climb despite the increased rain chances, with highs ranging from 71 to 80 degrees.
The NWS did not provide rainfall amounts, storm probabilities or indicate that severe thunderstorms are expected in the outlook. The Friday activity is described only as chances for showers and isolated storms, leaving uncertainty over exactly where and when precipitation develops.
Another change follows Saturday as warmer and breezier conditions return. Highs are forecast from 78 to 84 degrees, making Saturday potentially the warmest day in the outlook.
That would put parts of the Quad Cities forecast area more than 15 degrees warmer Saturday afternoon than Thursday's coolest projected readings, although those values cover different locations across the broader forecast area.
Residents should expect sunny, warm weather Wednesday and continued quiet conditions Thursday. Attention then turns to Friday's chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms before breezy, warmer weather returns Saturday.
