Davenport, IA – Halloween weekend across eastern Iowa and western Illinois will bring scattered showers, a mostly dry trick or treating window and another round of potentially widespread rain early next week as a larger storm system approaches the Upper Midwest.
According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will continue Friday night, October 30, through Saturday morning before gradually tapering off during the afternoon.
Halloween Rain Expected to Ease Before Trick or Treating
Friday night's rain chances range from 30% to 70%, with temperatures falling between 46 and 54 degrees.
On Halloween Saturday, October 31, highs are expected to reach 58 to 67 degrees. Scattered showers remain possible, with rain chances ranging from 20% to 60%.
However, conditions should improve later Saturday afternoon and evening, with mainly dry weather expected during peak trick or treating hours. A few isolated light showers or sprinkles could linger.
Saturday night temperatures will fall between 48 and 55 degrees, with rain chances near 20%.
November Begins Mild Before Rain Returns Monday
Sunday, November 1, will bring partly cloudy skies and above normal temperatures, with highs between 63 and 69 degrees.
Residents should also remember that daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, when clocks move backward one hour.
By Monday, November 2, another storm system will move across the Upper Midwest, bringing increasing rain chances to eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
Monday's rain chances range from 60% to 90%, increasing to 70% to 100% Monday night. High temperatures could reach 64 to 69 degrees before overnight readings settle between 56 and 60 degrees.
Communities across the Quad Cities region, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Rock Island and Moline, should monitor updated forecasts as the next system approaches.
