Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana will turn cooler Monday, Oct. 5, before a quick warmup pushes temperatures above normal and potentially into the lower 80s by Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis said Sunday that skies will remain clear to mostly clear through Wednesday. Monday will be the coolest day of the three day outlook before temperatures steadily climb.
Monday's highs are forecast to range from 68 to 74 degrees across central Indiana. Temperatures Monday night should generally fall to between 40 and 46 degrees.
However, the NWS said favored cold spots could dip into the upper 30s early Tuesday morning. The forecast does not specifically call for frost, so the colder readings should not be characterized as a frost event based on the current outlook.
Tuesday will bring sunshine and a noticeable rebound, with highs ranging from 71 to 76 degrees. Tuesday night lows are expected to range from 47 to 53.
The warmest weather arrives Wednesday, Oct. 7. Under sunny skies, afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach 77 to 83 degrees, which the NWS expects to be above normal for the time of year.
The forecast remains dry through the period shown, with no significant weather hazards indicated.
For Indianapolis and central Indiana, the main weather story is the rapid temperature swing: chilly conditions in favored locations early Tuesday followed by above normal warmth and possible lower 80s Wednesday afternoon.
