Indianapolis, Indiana – A brief but intense heat wave will push temperatures near 90 degrees in some parts of central Indiana on Thursday. This warmth comes ahead of a significant weather shift that will bring more widespread rain and cooler air by Friday.
According to the National Weather Service Indianapolis , the region can expect partly cloudy skies tonight with lows in the mid 50s to around 60. While Wednesday will feature mid 70s to mid 80s across the area, the heat ramps up on Thursday before cooling down to the lower 70s when the rain arrives.
Those working outdoors or planning activities on Thursday should take precautions against the heat, including staying hydrated and taking frequent breaks. As the weather pattern changes on Friday, prepare for the arrival of more consistent rainfall that will bring a welcome decrease in temperatures.
