Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana residents can expect an unusually warm late October afternoon Thursday, October 29, with temperatures approaching 80 degrees before cooler conditions and increasing rain chances arrive during the Halloween weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, mostly sunny skies are expected Thursday morning and early afternoon, with clouds increasing later in the day. High temperatures will reach 77 to 80 degrees across the region.
Near 80 Degrees Expected Thursday
Most of central Indiana will remain dry Thursday, providing favorable conditions for outdoor activities, commuting and fall events.
However, forecasters indicate a small chance of showers across northern portions of central Indiana late Thursday afternoon and early evening.
The probability of precipitation is approximately 20% in those areas.
Residents should expect increasing cloud cover as the afternoon progresses, although widespread rainfall is not anticipated.
Cooler Weather Arrives Friday
Friday, October 30, will bring a noticeable temperature decrease, with highs ranging from 67 to 75 degrees.
Sunny skies are expected, making Friday one of the more favorable days for outdoor Halloween celebrations and community events.
Overnight temperatures will fall into the 45 to 56 degree range.
Halloween Saturday Looks Mostly Dry
Saturday, October 31, will feature partly sunny skies, with highs between 66 and 71 degrees.
A slight 20% chance of rain is included in the forecast, but widespread precipitation is not expected.
Temperatures Saturday night are forecast to range from 48 to 55 degrees, making jackets useful for evening trick or treating.
Rain Chances Increase Sunday
Sunday, November 1, brings a higher probability of showers, with rain chances increasing to 40%.
High temperatures will range from 67 to 70 degrees, with overnight lows between 49 and 55 degrees.
