Rain could affect afternoon travel across Indianapolis and Marion County, with a 60% precipitation chance continuing into Wednesday evening.
According to the National Weather Service, showers become likely after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Temperatures will reach approximately 79 degrees before falling into the lower 60s overnight.
Wednesday night brings another 60% chance of precipitation, with showers likely before 8 p.m. Drivers traveling during the afternoon and evening should prepare for potentially wet pavement and reduced visibility during rainfall.
The unsettled weather follows several days of warming temperatures and improving skies.
Sunday, Oct. 11, begins cloudy before gradually becoming mostly sunny. Afternoon temperatures should reach 74 degrees, with light northeasterly winds.
Sunday night turns mostly clear, with temperatures dropping near 58 degrees.
Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 12, brings mostly sunny conditions and a high near 86 degrees. The favorable weather should support holiday travel and outdoor activities.
Tuesday, Oct. 13, becomes even warmer, with sunshine pushing temperatures to approximately 88 degrees. Southwest winds could gust to 22 mph.
A slight chance of showers develops after 2 a.m. Wednesday, with precipitation chances reaching 20% overnight.
