Frankfort, IN – Drivers traveling southbound on Interstate 65 through Clinton County should prepare for overnight lane and ramp closures beginning Tuesday, Oct. 27, as road crews conduct pavement repairs near the State Road 28 interchange.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation's West Central District, contractors are scheduled to begin pavement patching on or after Tuesday, with work anticipated to continue during the overnight hours.
I 65 Southbound Lanes and Ramps Affected
The construction activity will affect southbound I 65 near State Road 28, a major interchange serving Frankfort and surrounding Clinton County communities.
INDOT's project map highlights portions of the southbound interstate and a nearby interchange ramp where pavement repairs are planned.
The work is intended to address pavement conditions along the heavily traveled interstate corridor.
Motorists traveling through the area should anticipate temporary traffic restrictions, construction equipment and possible slowdowns while crews complete repairs.
Drivers entering or exiting I 65 near State Road 28 should pay particular attention to posted construction signs and any temporary ramp restrictions.
Overnight Construction Begins Tuesday
INDOT expects the work to take place during overnight hours, when traffic volumes are generally lower.
The announcement does not specify exact closure hours or provide a confirmed completion date.
Because construction is scheduled to begin on or after Oct. 27, the timing could change depending on weather conditions and operational needs.
Motorists traveling between Lafayette, Frankfort and Indianapolis along I 65 should allow additional time when passing through the affected section.
Drivers are encouraged to reduce speeds in construction zones, maintain additional following distance and watch for workers and equipment near active travel lanes.
