Fort Wayne, Indiana – Cool, breezy weather continues Wednesday as light rain or drizzle spreads into northern Indiana, with highs only reaching the 60s.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, high temperatures will remain below normal through the rest of the workweek. The chance for light rain or drizzle expands southwestward Wednesday before sunshine becomes more prevalent Thursday and Friday.
Rain chances Wednesday range from 20% to 40%. The best opportunity for precipitation will be along and south of U.S. 24, which crosses northern Indiana through communities including Huntington and Wabash.
High temperatures across the region will range from 61 to 66 degrees Wednesday. Overnight readings fall into the 50 to 55 degree range.
Conditions improve Thursday as clouds begin to break. Highs climb to between 67 and 71 degrees, while overnight lows range from 48 to 55.
Friday brings more sunshine but temperatures remain cool for the time of year. Highs range from 66 to 70 degrees before overnight temperatures drop into the 44 to 50 degree range.
Drivers traveling along and south of U.S. 24 should be prepared for periods of light rain or drizzle Wednesday, although the Weather Service information does not indicate heavy rainfall or flooding concerns.
The workweek ends on a brighter note as rain chances diminish and sunshine becomes more widespread. Below normal daytime temperatures persist through Friday, with the chilliest overnight conditions arriving Friday morning.
