Delphi, IN – Drivers traveling along State Road 25 southwest of Delphi should prepare for lane restrictions beginning Monday, Oct. 12, as a bridge maintenance project gets underway along the Hoosier Heartland Parkway in Carroll County.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation's West Central District, right lane closures will begin on or after Monday along State Road 25 over the Norfolk Southern railroad bridge, southwest of Delphi.
The project involves bridge maintenance and repairs to the barrier wall, with construction expected to continue until December, weather permitting.
The affected stretch of State Road 25 is near Division Line Road and the Wabash River, along a major regional route connecting Delphi with surrounding communities.
Motorists traveling through the construction zone should anticipate possible slowdowns, particularly during periods of active maintenance when right lanes are restricted.
Although INDOT has not specified exact daily closure hours or estimated traffic delays in its announcement, drivers are encouraged to remain alert for construction crews, temporary traffic controls and changing roadway conditions.
State Road 25, also known as the Hoosier Heartland Parkway, serves as an important transportation corridor for residents, commuters and commercial traffic moving through north central Indiana.
With the project potentially continuing for several weeks, drivers who regularly use the highway should allow additional travel time when construction activities are underway.
INDOT has not announced a full highway closure as part of this project. The restrictions specifically involve right lane closures near the railroad bridge.
Motorists can monitor current traffic conditions and construction updates through INDOT's official traveler information service, 511in.org .
The agency reminds drivers to exercise caution when approaching active work zones and watch for workers and equipment near the roadway.
