Covington, IN – The Indiana State Police executed search and arrest warrants at Agave Azul locations in Covington and Attica on September 14, 2026, following a detailed investigation into alleged employee harassment toward customers. The multi agency effort included assistance from the Fountain County Sheriff ’s Department, the Attica Police Department , and the Covington Police Department .
According to the Indiana State Police, the investigation resulted in the arrest of 19 year old Carlos Gjeronimo of Covington, who faces preliminary charges of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony. Additionally, 29 year old Dani Hernandez of Covington was arrested and charged with false informing and aggressive harassment.
During the process, detectives determined that 41 year old Jose Lopez of Covington had allegedly provided false information to law enforcement on several occasions. Investigators also claim that Lopez was aware of allegations involving sexual misconduct and sexual battery but failed to report the offenses. Lopez was taken into custody and transported to the Fountain County Jail.
Lopez faces a series of charges, including failure to report, obstruction of justice, harboring and transporting illegal aliens, assisting a criminal, false informing, and promotion of human labor trafficking. All suspects involved in the investigation are currently presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Authorities noted that the investigation remains ongoing.
