Joliet, IL – A domestic dispute in Joliet turned deadly when a couple involved in a divorce were found stabbed on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

The incident occurred in the 3400 block of Pandola Avenue, where police discovered a 35-year-old woman and her 32-year-old estranged husband with multiple stab wounds. The tragedy unfolded with the couple’s three-year-old son in the home, though he was unharmed.

Authorities report that the man attacked the woman with a kitchen knife as she tried to escape the residence. After stabbing her multiple times in the street, the man inflicted wounds on himself in the driveway. Both were later pronounced dead at Ascension St Joseph Medical Center.

The Joliet Police Department emphasized that this appears to be an isolated case related to domestic issues, posing no ongoing threat to the community. The incident is still under investigation, and further details will be provided by the Will County Coroner’s Office. The Department of Children and Family Services has been engaged to care for the welfare of the child.
