Tinley Park, IL – A new Halloween event aimed primarily at teens and adults is coming to downtown Tinley Park next month, bringing supernatural stories, haunted attractions and spooky entertainment to Harmony Square.
According to the Village of Tinley Park, "Frights in the Square" will take place Saturday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Harmony Square, 6700 North St.
Unlike Halloween activities designed for younger children, village officials said the evening's programming and entertainment will be geared more toward teenagers and adults.
The event will feature supernatural stories and legends from across the Chicago area presented by Neal Gibbons of Graveside Paranormal. Visitors can also check out a haunted museum and test their knowledge with horror themed trivia.
Halloween inspired vendors are scheduled to participate throughout the evening, along with food and beverage options. Organizers are also planning additional spooky activities and entertainment at the downtown gathering space.
The event adds another seasonal attraction to Harmony Square, which is located in the heart of downtown Tinley Park in Chicago's south suburbs.
Organizers are promoting the gathering as a different kind of Halloween experience, emphasizing paranormal stories, haunted attractions and entertainment rather than traditional children's trick or treat activities.
Residents planning to attend should note the 6 p.m. start time and the event's older audience focus when making plans for Saturday night.
