ST. LOUIS — November will begin with a rapid warmup across the St. Louis metro, with temperatures climbing into the lower 70s Monday and mid 70s Tuesday before rain and possible thunderstorms move through the region.
The National Weather Service forecast for the immediate St. Louis metro calls for a high near 61 Sunday, Nov. 1, with a 40% chance of rain mainly during the morning. Patchy fog is also possible before temperatures begin climbing sharply Monday.
70s Return Monday and Tuesday Monday becomes considerably warmer, with patchy morning fog followed by cloudy skies and a high near 72 degrees . South winds increase to 9–15 mph and could gust as high as 24 mph.
Monday night remains exceptionally mild around 63, setting up the warmest day of the current forecast Tuesday.
The Weather Service calls for a high near 74 degrees Tuesday, Nov. 3 , as south winds continue feeding mild air into the region.
That gives the St. Louis area a sharp early November progression: 61 Sunday, 72 Monday and 74 Tuesday .
Rain Peaks Tuesday The warmth comes with a wetter turn.
Rain becomes likely Tuesday, followed by rain and possibly a thunderstorm during the afternoon. The Weather Service places precipitation chances at 80% .
Rain remains likely Tuesday night, with a 70% precipitation chance before conditions gradually improve. Temperatures fall to around 56.
Wednesday carries only a 30% morning rain chance before becoming partly sunny with a high near 68. Thursday reaches around 67, followed by approximately 65 Friday and 66 Saturday.
The midweek change therefore cools St. Louis from the mid 70s, but daytime highs remain relatively mild for early November.
Warm, Drier Pattern Favored Nov. 8–14 The larger November pattern becomes more interesting after the first week rain.
NOAA favors above normal temperatures across much of the Midwest during Nov. 8–14 , reinforcing the broader November warmth signal.
Precipitation, however, trends in the opposite direction. Below normal precipitation is favored across a broad region extending through parts of the Midwest and Ohio Valley during Nov. 8–14.
That creates a useful St. Louis storyline: an active, wetter opening to November may give way to a warmer but quieter second week.
The outlook does not mean every day will be warm or dry. It describes average temperature and total precipitation tendencies across the seven day period.
As Thanksgiving and holiday travel season approach, the bigger question becomes how long November warmth can keep the St. Louis area's first sustained taste of winter waiting.
