Springfield, IL – Fair skies and above normal temperatures are expected across central and southeast Illinois this week, with Wednesday bringing some of the warmest conditions and patchy fog possible during the early mornings.
According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, daytime temperatures will generally climb through midweek while nights remain seasonably cool. The agency also expects this weekend to be among the warmest periods, although specific weekend temperatures were not provided in the forecast graphic.
Monday will feature highs ranging from 71 to 76 degrees across the forecast area, followed by overnight lows of 46 to 51. Precipitation chances remain below 10%.
Tuesday turns warmer, with highs from 75 to 79 and nighttime temperatures ranging from 51 to 58. Rain chances again remain below 10%.
Wednesday is expected to be the warmest day shown in the five day outlook, with highs ranging from 77 to 85 degrees. Wednesday night should bring lows between 50 and 55.
Temperatures ease slightly Thursday and Friday. Both days have forecast highs ranging from 73 to 81 degrees, with nighttime lows generally in the 50s. Precipitation chances remain at or below 10%.
Some patchy field and pond fog could develop during the early morning hours this week, according to the NWS. The outlook does not indicate widespread dense fog or other hazardous weather.
Central and southeast Illinois residents should expect predominantly fair and dry weather through Friday, with mild afternoons, cool nights and another warm period anticipated this weekend.
