Hoffman Estates, IL — Families in Chicago's northwest suburbs who need help providing holiday gifts for their children will have an opportunity to register for an expanded holiday toy assistance program next month, but participation requires an in person registration.
According to Schaumburg Township, its annual Township Toy Store program is expanding this holiday season to assist local families experiencing financial hardship.
The township announced that registration will take place Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Township of Schaumburg offices, located at 1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates.
The program is available to Schaumburg Township residents in need who have children ages 18 and younger.
Officials emphasized that registration is required this year, meaning families interested in receiving assistance must complete the enrollment process in person during the designated registration period.
Applicants must bring proof of township residency and proof of children when registering.
The township directs families to its official website for additional information about acceptable documentation and program requirements.
The expanded Toy Store initiative is intended to help eligible households provide holiday gifts for their children during a time of year when seasonal expenses can create additional financial challenges.

The township has not specified how many families the expanded program will accommodate or provided details about toy distribution dates in its announcement.
Residents considering participation are encouraged to review the documentation requirements before arriving to avoid registration difficulties.
