Schaumburg, IL – Residents in Schaumburg and surrounding northwest suburban communities have an opportunity next week to help shape the future of local fire and emergency services, but participation will be limited to just 75 people.
According to the Village of Schaumburg, the Schaumburg Fire Department is developing its next five year strategic plan and inviting community members to participate in a public workshop Wednesday, Nov. 4.
The workshop will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Al Larson Cultural Center Lecture Hall, located at 201 Schaumburg Court.
Residents Invited to Help Shape Emergency Services The community meeting will give residents an opportunity to share feedback, discuss priorities and provide input on the department's future services and goals.
Village officials emphasized that no special knowledge of firefighting, emergency medical services or public safety is necessary to participate.
The workshop is open to community members interested in helping guide the department's long term planning.
Schaumburg, located in Cook and DuPage counties northwest of Chicago, relies on its fire department for emergency response and public safety services.
The five year planning process provides an opportunity for residents to communicate their expectations and concerns directly to department representatives.
Registration Required, Only 75 Spots Available Officials say advance registration is mandatory, and attendance will be capped at 75 participants.
Residents interested in attending are encouraged to register early because of the limited capacity.
