Schaumburg, IL – Families across Schaumburg Township in Cook County, northwest of Chicago, are being encouraged to help local schoolchildren stay warm this winter as the annual Coats for Kids clothing drive prepares to return Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 23.
According to Schaumburg Township, the community initiative is collecting new winter clothing for students attending Schaumburg Community Consolidated School District 54, helping ensure children have essential cold weather gear before winter arrives.
The township announced the upcoming drive Saturday, October 10, encouraging residents to consider purchasing an additional winter clothing item while shopping for themselves or their families.
Winter Clothing Donations Needed Organizers are requesting new winter clothing in all sizes, including coats, snow pants, boots, hats and gloves.
The donated items will help local students stay warm as temperatures drop across the Chicago suburbs in the coming months.
Residents who wish to participate can purchase one or more winter essentials and deliver them to designated collection locations during the five day campaign.
The township emphasized that donations must be new, allowing students to receive clothing suitable for the upcoming winter season.
Where to Find Donation Locations Schaumburg Township has directed residents to its official website for information about participating drop off locations and collection hours.
Details are available at schaumburgtownship.org/annualevents .
The annual campaign offers residents an opportunity to support children in their own communities through practical donations that can make a difference during colder weather.
With the collection period beginning in just over a week, organizers are encouraging families to plan ahead and consider adding winter clothing to their shopping lists.
The drive concludes Friday, October 23.
