PEOTONE – Former Elwood Mayor Todd Matichak, 52, of Peotone, turned himself into Joliet Police Wednesday after a Grundy County grand jury indicted him on felony counts involving a minor.
Matichak was arrested on charges including criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The charges stem from an investigation by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office regarding an incident that occurred in the village of Minooka.
Matichak served as the mayor of Elwood from 2005 to 2013.
He is currently being held at the Grundy County Jail, with bond set at $1 million.
