DIXON, IL – A fatal incident occurred on November 1 at the crossing of Wadsworth Way and Nelson Road in Lee County.
Authorities identified the victim Thursday as Cassie Cantrell, a 22-year-old from Dixon, tragically lost her life after being struck by a train. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, supported by the Dixon Rural Fire Department, Lee County Coroner’s Office, and Union Pacific Railroad, responded to the scene.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
