Chicago Suburb Arrest: DNA Evidence Leads to Palos Park Burglary Charge Police in Palos Park have arrested a man in connection with a commercial burglary that occurred this summer at a medical office on the 8100 block of West 111th Street.
Authorities say the investigation began after the business was burglarized. Detectives processed the scene for forensic evidence and discovered biological material that was sent to the Illinois State Police Crime Laboratory for analysis.
The DNA evidence eventually returned a match to a suspect already known to law enforcement. Following a thorough investigation, Palos Park police took the individual into custody. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released pending formal arraignment, faces felony burglary charges.
Chief of Police Tom Bennett commended the investigative team for their persistence. “This case serves as a reminder that no crime goes cold permanently. We utilize every tool at our disposal to hold individuals accountable for criminal actions in our community,” Bennett said in a statement.
The suspect is currently being held at the Cook County Jail awaiting a bond hearing. The case remains under active investigation.
