Identification Confirmed The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the body recovered from the Cal Sag Channel in Palos Heights on Monday, May 5, 2025, as 32 year old Joshua Blair of Chicago.
Blair had been reported missing in late April. Local authorities were alerted to a body in the channel on Monday morning. Palos Heights police, along with specialized recovery teams, retrieved the remains from the waterway later that afternoon.
At this time, foul play is not immediately suspected, though the investigation remains ongoing. Toxicology results are pending, which will help determine a definitive cause of death.
The family of Mr. Blair has been notified. The investigation is being handled by the Palos Heights Police Department in coordination with the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
