Orland Park, IL – The Village of Orland Park, in collaboration with the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, State Senator Michael E. Hastings, and State Representative Patrick Sheehan, announced that a Mobile DMV unit will be stationed in the community on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The event is scheduled to operate from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Smith Crossing, located at 10501 Emilie Lane.
According to the official announcement, the mobile unit provides several key services for residents, including the issuance of standard and REAL ID driver's licenses and state identification cards. Attendees can also process vehicle registrations and purchase license plate stickers. Organizers noted that the event is specifically designed to assist those who need to renew, obtain, or correct their documents, though they emphasized that written and road tests will not be available at this mobile location.
Residents planning to utilize these services must schedule an appointment in advance. Registration is mandatory and must be completed by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, by calling 708 326 2308, extension 2308. Officials advised participants to visit www.ilsos.gov prior to their appointment to review the full list of required documentation to ensure a smooth processing experience.
Regarding payment, the office stated that only personal checks, money orders, or credit and debit cards will be accepted; cash payments are not permitted. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort by state and local officials to improve accessibility to vital government services for the Orland Park area.
