Orland Park, IL – Residents have an opportunity to help shape the future of four key areas in Orland Park as village officials seek public feedback on potential improvements, development and long term planning priorities.
According to the Village of Orland Park, the Sub Area Planning Project is examining four locations throughout the community, with residents encouraged to share what they would like to see preserved, improved or developed.
The initiative focuses on the Old Orland Historic District, Gateway to LaGrange District, Harlem Avenue Corridor and I 80 Employment Corridor.
Four Areas Under Review For the Old Orland Historic District , village officials are asking residents what they value most about the historic neighborhood.
The Gateway to LaGrange District focuses on how LaGrange Road could better serve the community.
Along the Harlem Avenue Corridor , officials are seeking ideas about what the roadway and surrounding area should look like over the next 20 years.
The I 80 Employment Corridor is also part of the project, with residents invited to suggest what types of development or uses belong along the interstate.
Together, the four areas represent different aspects of Orland Park's future, from preserving established neighborhoods to considering opportunities for economic development.
Residents Encouraged to Participate The village has launched an online community questionnaire to collect feedback from residents and others interested in the planning process.
Officials say the responses will help shape the village's plans for the four areas.
The announcement does not identify specific construction projects, approved redevelopment proposals or a deadline for completing the questionnaire.
For residents of Orland Park and surrounding southwest suburban Cook County communities, the survey provides an opportunity to express priorities before future planning decisions are made.
Residents can participate through the village's official questionnaire at orlandpark.org/SubAreaSurvey .
