Orland Park, IL – The holiday season is approaching in Chicago's southwest suburbs, and Orland Park is inviting local organizations, businesses and performers to take part in its annual Christmas celebration on Saturday, Nov. 28.
According to Orland Park Recreation, the village is seeking participants for its Holiday Lights on Ravinia Parade , part of a community Christmas festival featuring a parade and tree lighting celebration.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 , with organizers encouraging participants to decorate floats with festive lights and holiday decorations.
Community groups, dance teams, marching bands, performance organizations and local businesses are among those invited to apply.
Village officials emphasized that participation spots are limited, encouraging interested groups to submit applications as soon as possible.
The event is expected to bring holiday activity to Orland Park, a southwest Cook County community near Tinley Park and roughly 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
The celebration offers local organizations an opportunity to showcase their creativity, connect with residents and participate in a seasonal tradition.
For businesses, the parade also provides an opportunity to participate in a community event alongside neighborhood organizations and performers.
The village's promotional materials identify Mazda of Orland Park as the presenting sponsor, with additional local and regional businesses supporting the festivities.
Residents planning to attend should note the 5 p.m. parade start time. Specific street closures, parking arrangements and additional festival scheduling details were not included in the announcement.

Groups interested in joining the parade can find application information through the village's official events website at orlandpark.org/events .
With limited spots available, prospective participants are encouraged to review the application information ahead of the November celebration.
