Orland Park, IL – Holiday celebrations are coming to Orland Park this November, with the village announcing plans for its Christmas Parade, Tree Lighting and Festival featuring Santa, live entertainment and a holiday market.
According to Orland Park Recreation, the community celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 28 , from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Village Green, 14750 S. Ravinia Ave. , in the southwest suburban Cook County community.
The evening begins with the Holiday Lights on Ravinia parade at 5 p.m. , followed by the village's Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. Festival activities will continue through 8 p.m.
Along with the parade and tree lighting, organizers are advertising a holiday market, live entertainment and an opportunity for families to visit with Santa. Additional activities are also expected as part of the three hour celebration.
The event gives residents across Orland Park and Chicago's southwest suburbs an early opportunity to kick off the Christmas season with an evening centered around the Village Green.
Organizers are also looking for local businesses, organizations and community members interested in taking a more active role in the festivities.
Applications are currently being accepted for parade participants and holiday market vendors . Those interested are encouraged to apply soon because participation is available while space lasts. Applications are due Monday, Nov. 2 , according to Orland Park Recreation.
More information and applications are available through the village's recreation events website.
With the parade beginning at 5 p.m., attendees may want to arrive early to find parking and secure a viewing spot before the procession begins along Ravinia Avenue.
