Orland Park, IL – Illinois voters are heading to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 3, for the 2026 general election, with polling locations across the state scheduled to remain open until 7 p.m. Residents planning to cast their ballots in person have a limited window to make their voices heard.
According to the Village of Orland Park, Tuesday is Gubernatorial Election Day, and local officials are reminding residents to verify their voter registration information and assigned polling locations before leaving home.
Polling places across Illinois are scheduled to operate from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday , giving voters 13 hours to participate in the election.
The election includes the race for Illinois governor, along with other federal, statewide and local contests appearing on ballots depending on where residents live.
For voters in Orland Park and surrounding Cook County communities, officials recommend checking election information ahead of time to avoid confusion about polling locations.
Residents can access local election resources through the village's official website at orlandpark.org/elections .
Voters can also use the Illinois State Board of Elections website to find voter registration information and additional election resources.
Under Illinois election rules, voters who are already in line at their polling location by 7 p.m. are permitted to cast their ballots, even if voting continues beyond the scheduled closing time.

With polls closing Tuesday evening, residents who have not yet voted are encouraged to confirm their assigned voting location and plan accordingly.
