Onarga, IL – A longtime Iroquois County banking executive has been re elected to a leadership position with the Community Bankers Association of Illinois, continuing his role with the statewide organization representing community banks.
According to an Oct. 1 release from the Community Bankers Association of Illinois , Matt J. Clark, president and chief executive officer of Federated Bank in Onarga , was re elected as a group director during the association’s recent annual convention in Indianapolis.
As a group director, Clark serves on the CBAI Board of Directors as well as its Strategic Planning, Membership and Government Relations committees.
Clark earned both a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign .
His banking career included work at Champaign County Schools Employees Credit Union from 1994 through 2002, where he held positions including teller, loan officer, vice president and director. The association said Clark has been with Federated Bank for 24 years.
Clark has also held several community leadership roles in and around Onarga. His service has included work as a Village of Onarga trustee, president of the Onarga Community Center, director and treasurer of the Iroquois West Booster Club, director of the Iroquois Economic Development Association and a volunteer firefighter.
He currently serves as a director of the Grand Prairie Seminary & Commercial College, according to the release.
The Springfield based Community Bankers Association of Illinois was founded in 1974. The organization says its approximately 240 members hold more than $80 billion in assets and operate more than 1,500 locations statewide .
Clark resides in Onarga with his wife, Melody Clark, and their son, Jacob.
