New Lenox, IL – Drivers and residents in several New Lenox neighborhoods should prepare for roadway maintenance and temporary parking restrictions beginning Wednesday as Public Works crews start treating recently paved streets.
According to the Village of New Lenox, crews will apply an asphalt rejuvenation treatment to roads that received new asphalt in 2025. The preventative maintenance is designed to restore flexibility to the pavement and reduce cracking and other surface deterioration.
Work will begin at 9 a.m. each day, after school bus routes are completed, and continue throughout the week until all scheduled streets have been treated.
The village said planned treatment areas include portions of several neighborhoods, including Aerohaven and Crystal Cove. Maps released by officials show the specific streets scheduled for work.
Temporary no parking signs will be placed before crews begin working in each neighborhood. Residents are being asked not to park vehicles on affected streets until treatment has been completed.
The restrictions are intended to provide crews with enough room to safely and efficiently perform the maintenance while reducing delays and other traffic impacts.
Because work will move between scheduled areas throughout the week, residents should watch for posted signs indicating when their street will be treated. Motorists traveling through affected neighborhoods may also encounter crews and maintenance equipment during daytime hours.
The village described the project as an investment in extending the useful life of recently resurfaced roads.
