Monee, IL – Families will have a chance to climb up close to fire apparatus, meet local emergency personnel and see a tower demonstration when the Monee Fire Protection District holds its annual open house Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026.
According to an event announcement from the Monee Fire Protection District , the open house will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. , with a special tower demonstration planned for 1 p.m.
Visitors will be able to explore the district’s fire engines and tower equipment while learning more about the tools firefighters and paramedics use during emergencies.
The event will also showcase the district’s newest ambulance and lifesaving cardiac monitoring equipment. Fire district personnel will be available to meet with residents and answer questions about their work and emergency services.
Children attending the open house will have an opportunity to try a hose line on a miniature house display, giving them a hands on look at one part of firefighting operations.
Community partners will also participate. The district’s flyer says representatives from ComEd , dispatch personnel and other community organizations are expected to attend.
Popcorn will be available during the event, and organizers are encouraging families to attend together and speak directly with firefighters and other emergency service professionals.
The annual event is designed to provide residents with a closer look at the people, vehicles and equipment serving the Monee area while creating an opportunity for questions about fire protection and emergency response.
Those planning to attend should note that the tower demonstration is specifically scheduled for 1 p.m. , midway through the three hour open house.
