Lombard, IL The Village of Lombard has decided not to place a formal ceasefire resolution regarding Gaza on its agenda for consideration.
During recent discussions and in response to public inquiries, the Village Board of Trustees determined that such a matter falls outside the scope of local municipal governance. The Board maintained that its primary responsibility is to address village specific infrastructure, public safety, and fiscal policies.
This decision follows similar actions taken by other municipalities across the country that have faced calls from residents to adopt symbolic resolutions on international conflicts. The Lombard Village Board emphasized that their focus remains on maintaining the quality of life and services for all residents within the community.
The village did not release a formal vote on the matter, as the resolution was not brought forward to the board agenda.
