Lockport, IL – A 33 year old Lockport man faces six felony charges after investigators allegedly found dozens of images and several videos containing child sexual abuse material on his cellphone, according to the Will County Sheriff ’s Office.
According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, detectives began investigating Piotr Fudala on June 12 after being contacted by the Will County Probation Office regarding a possible probation violation and suspected possession of child sexual abuse material, commonly abbreviated as CSAM.
Authorities said Fudala had checked in for a probation meeting when a probation officer requested to examine his cellphone. Fudala provided the device, and the officer allegedly discovered suspected CSAM.
Sheriff’s detectives responded to the probation office and interviewed Fudala. According to authorities, Fudala allegedly admitted possessing CSAM on the phone and consented to a forensic examination of the device.
Investigators said the forensic review allegedly uncovered approximately 40 images and nine videos containing CSAM.
An arrest warrant was issued Monday, Oct. 5, charging Fudala with six counts of possession of CSAM, each classified as a Class 2 felony, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives located Fudala at about 3 p.m. Monday at his residence in the 200 block of Cameron Avenue in Lockport. Authorities said he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
The sheriff’s office said Fudala was being held pending a detention hearing. His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9.
The charges are allegations. Fudala is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
