Kankakee, IL – Families looking for Halloween fun in Kankakee County can mark their calendars for Friday, Oct. 30, when the annual Halloween Spooktacular brings trick or treating, costumes and other activities to downtown Kankakee.
According to the City of Kankakee, the annual Spooktacular Trunk or Treat will run from 6 8 p.m. at the Kankakee Public Library , 201 E. Merchant St.
Families are encouraged to dress in their favorite costumes and take part in an evening of Halloween activities. Promotional materials for the event advertise free candy, crafts, a costume contest and a haunted library.
The event offers parents another opportunity to celebrate Halloween with children ahead of Halloween night on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Organizers are promoting the celebration as a family oriented event, with activities scheduled during the early evening in downtown Kankakee. The city's announcement also included event information in both English and Spanish.
With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, the Friday night Spooktacular kicks off a full weekend of Halloween activities for families across Kankakee and surrounding Kankakee County communities.
Attendees should note that the scheduled event time is 6 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, and the venue is the Kankakee Public Library at 201 E. Merchant St., Kankakee, IL 60901.
