KANKAKEE, IL — A routine traffic stop took a surprising turn on Thursday in Kankakee. Police officers intercepted a vehicle along the 1600 block of East Court Street, initiating an investigation that would ultimately lead to multiple felony charges.
During the interaction, law enforcement officers discovered a loaded firearm inside the vehicle. Additionally, authorities found a quantity of illicit drugs during their search. Perhaps most alarming to responding officers was the fact that a child was present in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
