Joliet, IL – Joliet area residents needing food assistance can attend a mobile food pantry Friday morning without registering in advance, according to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet.
According to Catholic Charities, the drive through distribution will take place Friday, Oct. 2, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 205 E. Jackson St. in Joliet.
Organizers said there is no registration process for the event. Residents seeking food assistance can simply arrive during the scheduled distribution window.
The mobile pantry provides another food assistance option for families and individuals in Joliet, Will County and the surrounding southwest Chicago suburbs.
Because the event is being operated as a drive through distribution, visitors should remain alert for signs, volunteers and vehicle directions when arriving at the church property. Participants also may want to allow additional time in case a line develops during the morning.
Catholic Charities announced the distribution Wednesday, giving residents two days to make plans for the Friday event.
The organization did not list specific eligibility requirements or provide details about the types or quantities of food expected to be distributed in its announcement. Anyone planning to attend should therefore rely on directions from volunteers at the site regarding pickup procedures.
