Frankfort, IL – Families in Frankfort can start making their Halloween plans, as village officials have announced the community's official trick or treating hours for Saturday, Oct. 31.
According to the Village of Frankfort, trick or treating will run from 3 to 7 p.m. on Halloween , giving children and families a four hour window to visit participating homes throughout the community.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, allowing many families to begin their activities during daylight hours before continuing into the early evening.
Frankfort is located primarily in Will County, about 35 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. With Halloween activities taking place across Chicago's south and southwest suburbs, families should keep in mind that trick or treating schedules can vary by municipality.
Parents and guardians can use the announced hours to plan routes in advance and make sure younger children are accompanied while going door to door.
As daylight fades during the later portion of the trick or treating window, families can also consider flashlights, reflective clothing or other visible accessories to make children easier for motorists to see.
Drivers traveling through Frankfort neighborhoods during the designated hours should expect increased pedestrian activity and watch carefully for children crossing residential streets and driveways.
Frankfort's trick or treating period concludes at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 .
