Frankfort, IL – Residents are invited to embrace the spirit of the season as downtown Frankfort prepares to host the Scary at the Prairie 5K and Spooky Sprints on October 17, 2026, Saturday.
According to the Village of Frankfort, the Halloween themed event kicks off at 10:30 am at Prairie Park. The day features a variety of athletic challenges, including a 5K run and walk, a 1 mile fun run, and a 100 yard dash. Participants are highly encouraged to dress in their favorite costumes for the races and the post race activities, which will include organized costume contests.
Registration for the event is currently open. Those who sign up in advance can secure a spot for $15.00, while registration on the day of the event will cost $20.00.
