CPS Expands Free Pre-K Program to 12 Additional Neighborhoods
The expansion brings universal pre K closer to reality for Chicago families.

Chicago Public Schools announced the expansion of its free full day pre kindergarten program to 12 additional neighborhoods, including Austin, Englewood, and Brighton Park. The district now offers free pre K at 600 schools citywide, serving more than 24,000 children. Superintendent Pedro Martinez called the expansion a critical step toward educational equity.
