Chicago, IL – Federal and local authorities have filed drug related charges against two suburban men following a large scale investigation that resulted in the seizure of over 300 pounds of cocaine. The arrests were announced following an operation led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration DEA Chicago Field Division.
According to the DEA Chicago Field Division, Burhan C. Ozerdinc, 33, of Oak Lawn, and Ahmad S. Sanducka, 33, of Mount Prospect, were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The charges stem from a search warrant executed earlier in the week at a residence in River Grove.
Authorities reported seizing approximately 339.5 pounds of cocaine and roughly $700,000 in cash during the search. Both suspects were taken into custody following the discovery of the items.
The investigation involved a collaborative effort between multiple law enforcement agencies, including Customs and Border Protection, the Chicago Police Department , the Will County Sheriff ’s Office, and police departments from Buffalo Grove, Elmhurst, Elgin, Woodridge, and Justice. Additionally, the Lake County Sheriff 's Office Special Investigations Group provided support during the operation.
Following their arrest, Cook County Circuit Court Judge Kristyna C. Ryan granted the State’s petitions for pretrial detention, ordering both defendants to remain in custody. Officials emphasize that these charges are allegations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The defendants are entitled to a fair trial, where the government bears the burden of proof. The case remains under the jurisdiction of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
