Chicago, IL – Officers assigned to the 16th District of the Chicago Police Department made a significant arrest on August 30, 2026, after responding to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle. While investigating a report of a man slumped over inside a car, officers discovered illegal weapons and narcotics, leading to the arrest of 31 year old Rashad Walk.
According to police records, officers arrived at the 7100 block of N. Nagle Avenue, where they located Walk inside the vehicle. After waking the driver, officers observed suspected narcotics in the driver side door area. A subsequent background check revealed that Walk had an outstanding warrant. During the encounter, the suspect reportedly refused to comply with repeated police orders to exit his vehicle.
Once Walk eventually stepped out and was taken into custody, authorities discovered additional narcotics falling from his pockets. Officers then impounded the vehicle and conducted a search, which resulted in the recovery of two firearms and additional quantities of suspected narcotics. This evidence formed the basis for the felony charges now facing the suspect.
The suspect was charged with two felony counts of being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon, one count of possession of methamphetamine, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and a charge related to the issuance of the warrant. Walk remains in custody as the case proceeds through the legal system. Chicago police continue to focus their efforts on firearm recovery and narcotics enforcement as part of their broader community safety strategy.
