Chicago Heights Man Charged with Attempted Murder Following Expressway Shooting

CHICAGO – A Chicago Heights man is facing attempted murder charges in connection with an expressway shooting on Sunday.
According to Illinois State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Sunday on I 57 southbound near 111th Street.
Police say a 28 year old male was driving when he was shot by an occupant of another vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Following an investigation, officers identified 24 year old Jalen Williams of Chicago Heights as the suspect. Williams was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
He is currently being held at the Cook County Jail.
