Today's highs south of I 80 will reach between 82 and 92 degrees, while areas near Lake Michigan should stay cooler, remaining in the mid upper 70s.
The comfortable stretch will be short lived, as the meteorological data indicates a return to very warm and humid conditions beginning Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will climb back into the 86 to 92 degree range by mid week, with a potential for a few showers developing north of I 88 late Wednesday.

Those living downtown should note that overnight lows will hover in the upper 60s, while suburban areas may see cooler lows between 57 and 66 degrees depending on the specific night.
