Channahon, IL – The Channahon Police Department issued a public notice on Thursday, September 17, 2026, regarding a planned maintenance operation at a local gas facility. Guardian Pipeline has notified authorities that it will be performing a controlled bleed of its pipeline located near Amoco Road throughout the morning and early afternoon.
According to local law enforcement, the operation is scheduled to take place between approximately 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Officials warned that the venting process is expected to be extremely loud and may be audible from a significant distance. The department issued the notification to ensure the public remains aware that the noise is the result of routine, albeit noisy, maintenance.
The police department emphasized that this is a completely controlled and authorized operation, and there is no cause for alarm regarding the noise levels. Residents living in the vicinity of Amoco Road should expect these conditions during the designated window. No emergency response is required, and the facility is expected to resume normal operations once the bleed is complete.
