CHAMPAIGN, Ill. Officials issued multiple court citations for alcohol violations Sunday morning after police officers responded to a large gathering in the 100 block of East Green Street. Police were called to the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday on reports of several hundred people and furniture being burned in the middle of the street. Officers found hundreds of people in the area and multiple pieces of furniture on fire. Officers worked to disperse the crowd, which was accomplished by 1:30 a.m. There were no injuries reported.
