Braidwood, IL – Halloween festivities are coming to Braidwood later this month as the Braidwood Fire Protection District prepares to open its station for an evening of trick or treating, fire trucks, food and family activities.
According to the Braidwood Fire Protection District, its Halloween Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the fire station, 275 W. Main St.
Families attending the event can participate in trick or treating while getting an up close look at the equipment local firefighters use. Touch a truck activities and station tours are also planned, giving children an opportunity to explore the firehouse and learn more about their local emergency responders.
Visitors are encouraged to come dressed for Halloween. The district says anyone wearing a costume will earn a raffle ticket.
The evening will also include raffle baskets and vendors, while Fo’ Sizzle Mobile Eatery is scheduled to be on site with food. Another attraction will be the “Firefighter Price Is Right,” adding a firehouse twist to the familiar game show concept.
The event comes just three days before Halloween, offering families in Braidwood and surrounding Will County communities another opportunity to celebrate the season before Oct. 31.
For the fire district, the open house also gives residents a chance to meet local firefighters and see the station beyond an emergency call.
The Braidwood Fire Protection District encourages area families to attend the three hour event and take part in the Halloween activities.
